Family Reunion part 1

This was the year for the Christian side of our family to have a reunion.  The Roe reunion was planned at the Greer Lodge in Arizona.  It is a 4-5 hour drive so we decided we wanted to go part way on the way up.  We drove to our favorite camping spot just up on the rim (about 30 miles from Payson/Star valley).  We left early in the morning so we would have time to explore and play around during the day.  We got up there around 11-12.  We set up camp, went for a walk and even picked some flowers.
Ada liked helping set up the tent.
Rue just watched us set up camp!

Love going for walks with my cute family!

I laid down with the girls while Keith went to gather wood.  (not a very wonderful picture of me, but Keith liked "his napping girls."

It was a fabulously calm day.  I read my book and enjoyed the cooler weather.  Ada and Rue LOVED being outside.  Ada really is a fairly good camper.  She doesn't try to play with the fire, she loves to explore but at the same time she is a chicken like me and doesn't do anything very dangerous.  She actually had a ball pretending our camp boxes were trains.  She played on them most of the time...with most of the dishes, but hey, she was happy.  It really was cute to see her make believe and use you imagination.

When Ada woke up from her nap she just laid there and read her book.  It was super cute.  She was excited about our "camping house."

She is still just so stinking cute in her hospital hat
Here is Ada's train that she rode most of the time.  She is even making some food to share with us.  Ada and I had fun singing songs together.  I taught her "5 Little Monkeys Teasing Mr. Alligator."  Kind of a morbid song, but she loved "snapping those monkeys right out of that tree."
This is Rue's "sleeping suit" - sleeping bags stress me out when this small so we put them to sleep in a snow suit.  Works great!  This is Rue's first camping trip and she really did do well.  We want our girls to know how to "rough" it in the wild.  We think it is important to (real) camp.  It is an awful lot of work, but hopefully they will appreciate it someday.
Night time went ok.  Rue was in the pack and play next to me and Ada was on a cot next to Keith.  Both girls woke up around 3am.  Ada climbed in our "Adam and Eve" sleeping bag next to Keith and Rue took her binkie and went back to sleep.  The girls woke up around 6am which was less than ideal.  Luckily I was able to keep the "resting" in bed with me until 6:30 or 7am.  However we were all tired!  Which equaled a far less than ideal rest of the drive to the reunion.  Pretty sure Rue screamed for about an hour to two hours straight.  There was nothing I could do to calm her.  LOTS of tears shed in that 2 hour drive!!!...
